GMKtec NucBox K10 Intel® Core™ i9-13900HK Mini PC

I am using this as a Proxmox server with a pair of 4TB Lexar PCIe 4.0 SSDs, and it works great for me. It has been a very capable little box for this kind of server use.

I bought the 64GB RAM and 1TB SSD version for about $685 and it has been excellent value for me compared with similar systems that cost much more. After several weeks of continuous use, I am still impressed by how fast it feels. The i9 handles demanding work easily, and I use it as both a database server and a desktop workstation without any problem. Boot times are excellent, it stays surprisingly quiet under load, and the cooling has been so effective that I sometimes wonder if it is even running. I also like the compact design, although I decided to keep it desk-mounted instead of hiding it behind a monitor because I want easier access to the power button.

It was not as fast as I expected at first and the initial setup took ages for me, but once everything finished it started running well. I like the small form factor, it feels discreet on the desk, and it has been almost silent in normal use.

This has been a very good product for me, and with 64GB of memory it feels extremely fast. I mainly think of it as a powerful little machine for programming work, and the overall speed is exactly what I wanted.

For my use, this machine works even better on Ubuntu than on Windows 11. I moved over to Ubuntu and the experience has been smooth, stable, and exactly what I wanted from a compact workstation.

It arrived on time and was very easy for me to set up under Windows 11. I just switched it on and followed the prompts. It has been quiet in use with no fan noise for the way I use it, and I really like having plenty of ports available, including DisplayPort and two HDMI outputs.

My new GMK Core i9-13900HK K10 has put a smile on my face. I bought it to replace an outdated Windows 7 machine for everyday use like research, email, entertainment, web browsing, and some gaming. After updating Windows 11 Pro and installing my security tools, I was impressed by how fast and quiet it felt. The Wi-Fi antennas made a noticeable difference for me, webpages opened in a flash, and I could run multiple apps with lots of tabs open without any trouble. I also like that the underside panel should make adding another SSD much easier later.

This K10 has been fast, cool, and quiet for me. I do not use the preinstalled Windows build because I run NixOS, and getting everything working was very straightforward. Compile times are dramatically better than on my older 8th-gen i7 machine. The included SSD is already good enough for me, although I can still see room to upgrade it later.

I honestly think this is one of the best-value computers I could have bought for the money. The 13th Gen i9, 64GB of DDR5 RAM, and 1TB SSD gave me the kind of specification I would normally expect to cost much more. I hooked it up to a 34-inch ultrawide display and the experience has been excellent. Even in very hot conditions where my room can get close to 100°F, it has stayed smooth, quiet, and barely warm to the touch. I do think the footprint could be a bit smaller, but overall it has been a fast little beast for me.
